Couples Session at the Metropolitan Museum of Art | Emma + Brandon
Have you been to NYC? Visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art was probably on your to-do list! Even if you haven't been, I'm sure you've heard of the iconic museum in New York City.
This past Spring, I had the opportunity to follow Emma and Brandon around the Met, documenting both their love for one another and for the beautiful galleries around the museum. While the original plan was to shoot their session in the West Village, New York weather had other ideas! With 15-degree temps and sleet and snow falling from a cloudy sky, we headed into the Met. It turns out that everyone else had the same idea!
After we made it through the line and into the Met, we talked through our game plan. With crowds everywhere, patience was going to be key! Our goal was to keep relaxed and just capture Emma and Brandon's love for one another in a cool place. It worked!
We started off our museum couples session at the Met with the Egyptian wing, capturing heartfelt shots of Emma and Brandon in the breathtaking gallery. Next up was the American wing, which was still crowded but full of incredible art! While there was certainly a lot of waiting for the ideal crowd-free shots, we all had a wonderful time just exploring the museum.
From the American wing, we wandered through the Met, winding our way through rooms full of beautiful statues, eventually finding ourselves near the museum's entrance, where we were able to capture one of my favorites from the session!
After it was all said and done, we hung around for a few minutes just catching up with each other before heading out into the chilly New York City air. A few months after their couple's session at the Met, Emma and Brandon got engaged! And even more exciting, I was able to come back to shoot their wedding (another blog post coming soon)! I'm so glad that I could be a small part of their journey, and that I could capture a piece of their story for them to have forever!
