3 Special and Unique Benefits to Booking an Engagement Session
Wedding season and the season of planning can be totally overwhelming. No matter what type of celebration you are having, they are bound to bring up feelings of stress, overwhelm, and maybe even some family dynamic issues. Sometimes it’s easy to lose ourselves in the madness and forget the reason we are even planning to begin with…the love of your partner right?
As a wedding photographer, I have the honor and privilege to be there for one of the most memorable and special days of your life (at least, I hope so!). One of my favorite things about this aspect of my job is offering my clients an engagement session before the big day. My vision is not to have this be a “check box” and do an engagement session type of thing. This session should be fun! My goal and passion is to have your engagement session be a moment to make memories where you get to spend carefree time with your person, capturing moments before you walk down the aisle, and maybe even remembering why you are planning this wedding in the first place! I want it to be an hour where you forget the planning and chaos and get lost with each other on a fun date night where I get to capture pictures to last a lifetime.
3 Real Benefits To Booking an Engagement Session
Abby & David | Pine Mountain, GA
Abby and David met during Impact 360 Gap Year Program after high school! After they got engaged, a fellow alumni and mutual friend connected us and I was blessed with the opportunity to capture their engagement session in February 2022 and wedding in May 2022.
Abby utilized my style guide to help her pick neutrals and a casual vibe for their laid back first half of the photoshoot. She decided on a flowy, more elegant dress for the second portion in the mountains and valleys of GA.
During the gap year program, Abby and David, along with friends, frequently spent time in downtown Pine Mountain. Though they didn’t date during the program, this small town was the place where it all started for them. We wanted to embrace the simplicity and love of this place, so downtown Pine Mountain was the perfect for their casual date night photo vibe.
In true engagement and wedding fashion though, I knew we needed to capitalize on the beautiful Golden Hour that the Pine Mountain valley offers. So we headed up to the lookout to get some more of the romantic shots.
This location was also a meaningful place to Abby and David since this is where David proposed and Abby forgot to say “yes”. Now, a running joke between them, they still laugh about how in all the excitement of the day, Abby forgot to officially accept the proposal…however, just by looking at the pictures, the love between them is tangible.
Engagement sessions will forever hold a special place in my heart. Being allowed the opportunity to photograph a pivotal and special time in a couple’s life and relationship is never something I take for granted!
